How do I send the transcript to a college, employer, or scholarship program?

Two options, depending on the receiver. (1) Most flexible: after you click "Issue this transcript", click "Save / Print PDF" to download the printed transcript. Email or upload that PDF anywhere a normal transcript would go — the verify URL and SHA-256 hash are printed on the last page so the receiver can confirm it hasn't been altered. (2) Easiest: copy the verify URL (e.g., eformogi.com/verify/tr_5ab8…) and paste it into an email — the receiver clicks and lands on a verification page directly. The PDF is what most receivers expect; the URL is what verifiers check.

Does the receiver need an Eformogi account?

No. The verify page is free, login-free, and account-free, by design. Receivers click the URL, see ✓ Verified with the student details and SHA-256 hash, and that's it — no sign-up, no paywall, no marketing email. We believe a records office's receiver side should never require a third-party sign-up to do its job.

Is this legally accepted by colleges and employers?

Honest answer: it depends on the receiver. Many colleges, employers, and scholarship programs accept homeschool, microschool, and Portrait-of-a-Graduate transcripts directly from families — particularly when accompanied by portfolios, exam scores (AP, SAT subject, CLEP), or independent evaluator letters. Some receivers require a third-party umbrella school. We don't pretend the SHA-256 seal makes a self-attested transcript equivalent to an accredited registrar's record — see /for-receivers for the receiver-facing explanation. Our roadmap includes a "trust ladder" letting specific claims carry stronger forms of attestation (third-party signed, issuer-of-record).

What does "sealed with SHA-256" mean?

When you click "Issue this transcript", your browser computes a cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of every byte in the transcript — student name, courses, evidence, dates, everything. That hash becomes part of the printed document and the verify URL. If anyone — you, the receiver, or any system in between — alters even one character of the transcript afterward, the hash will not match and the verify page will not show ✓ Verified. The hash protects against tampering after issuance. It does not, by itself, prove the underlying claims (e.g., that the courses were actually taught) — that's a separate trust question we are honest about.

How is this free? What's the catch?

No catch for families. Your record is free forever — capturing it, witnessing it, issuing a transcript from it, and having a receiver verify it. That's in our founding contract (see /sovereignty), not a marketing promise we can revoke. Our business model puts the cost of verification at scale on requesters and intermediaries — automated agents, high-volume admissions platforms, brokers — that need verification infrastructure. Individual receivers verifying a single transcript pay nothing. Families never pay for the record. Optional done-for-you paperwork services (like state-compliance packets generated from your record) may be paid, but skipping them never locks, degrades, or deletes your record.

What is Eformogi?

Eformogi is the records office for families whose kid's learning doesn't fit a normal transcript — homeschool, Alpha-style, PBL, micro-school, Portrait of a Graduate, unschool, 2e, hospital-school, foster, refugee. You compose a verifiable transcript at your kitchen table, seal it with a cryptographic hash, and hand the receiver a printed PDF (with verify URL on it) that they can confirm directly — no Eformogi account on their side. Your record is free forever. Receivers pay the toll.

How does consent-based sharing work?

Organizations create intake links requesting specific data categories. When you receive a link, you see exactly what's being requested, choose which categories to share, and approve. Consent is logged with a timestamp, fully auditable, and revocable at any time.

Eformogi works with most standard web forms — school enrollment, camp registration, medical intake, sports league sign-ups, after-school programs, and more. It matches common field names like first_name, email, phone, date_of_birth, address, and many others.

Your vault supports: identity (name, date of birth, gender), contact information (email, phone, address), education (school, grade, student ID), medical (physician, insurance, allergies, medications), emergency contacts, parent/guardian information, and more. Each category can hold data for multiple family members.

You can add data manually through the app, upload documents (transcripts, medical forms, IDs) for automatic extraction, or let the conversational assistant guide you through the process during onboarding.

Yes — Eformogi is designed for families. You can create separate profiles for each child, parent, or guardian. When filling a form, you choose which person's data to use.

Upload a PDF or image of a document (transcript, medical form, ID). Eformogi's AI reads the document and extracts relevant fields into your vault. You review and confirm each extracted field before it's saved. The original document is not stored — only the extracted data.

Who can see my data?

Other people can't. Your vault is encrypted at rest and scoped to your account by row-level security, so other users have no path to it. We never sell, share, or use your personal data for advertising, and no third party is given access to your vault. Yes. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256 via Supabase). Your vault data is additionally protected by row-level security policies — database queries are scoped to your user ID at the database level.

Yes. Eformogi is built around the requirements of GDPR (Articles 15, 17, and 20 — access, erasure, and portability), COPPA (children's data protection), FERPA (student education records), and California's CCPA. Parents control all family data. Compliance for your organization's use of the data is ultimately your responsibility — we provide the consent artifacts, audit logs, and revocation tools that support it.

What happens to documents I upload?

Documents are securely stored in your encrypted document wallet and used to extract structured data into your vault. You can view, download, or delete your stored documents at any time. Original files are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and protected by row-level security, so no other user can access them. When you share data with an organization, you choose whether to include the source documents.

Can I delete my account and all data?

Yes — go to Settings (eformogi.com/settings) and use the account deletion feature. This permanently removes all your data from every table in our database. This complies with GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure). You can also export all your data first at eformogi.com/export.

What are Verifiable Credentials?

Verifiable Credentials are W3C-standard digital proofs that certain data in your vault is authentic. When you share vault data, credentials let recipients verify it came from a trusted source without contacting you. You control which credentials to issue and can revoke them at any time.

You can create a share link for any portion of your vault data. Recipients see a read-only view — they cannot modify your data. Links can be set to expire, require an access code, or be revoked at any time. You're notified when someone views your shared data.

Passwords give an agent unlimited access to everything you can see. An Eformogi key is scoped to specific data categories, governed by your policy, fully auditable, and revocable instantly. The agent never sees credentials to other services — it acts through signed consent, not impersonation.

An organization's intake link isn't working

Document extraction works best with clear, high-resolution PDFs. Scanned images may have lower accuracy. You can always manually correct extracted fields in the vault. For best results, use official digital copies rather than photos of paper documents.

I'm seeing "Rate Limited" errors

API endpoints have rate limits to protect the service. Most endpoints allow 30-60 requests per minute. If you're seeing rate limit errors during normal use, wait a minute and try again. If the issue persists, contact support.

The app is loading slowly

Eformogi uses lazy loading to keep the initial load fast. Some pages (like the vault or admin dashboard) load additional data after the initial render. If performance is consistently poor, try clearing your browser cache or using a different network connection.
