Sample New York IHIP — high school (9–12) (2026–2027)
New York families file an IHIP with their district by August 15 — or within 14 days of beginning home instruction (8 NYCRR §100.10). Below is a completed example, not a blank form: grades 9–12 are planned in units of study under 8 NYCRR §100.10(e)(3), cumulative across the four years, at the 990-hour annual equivalent. Graduation ends with a parent-issued diploma — see the New York guide for how that works. The student is fictional; the wording is real, and you are welcome to borrow it.

Why the wording is general on purpose
Describe each subject in general terms ("regular composition assignments") rather than specific promises ("one polished essay per month"). General language satisfies the requirement and keeps you flexible if your plans change mid-year.
Every plan below follows that rule. Copy any of them into your own IHIP and adjust the details to your family.
